This is Nadine Bloch, reporting live from the streets of DC… where we are reclaiming public space and pushing forward creative messaging for impeachment, removal and expulsion (aka what we have been doing everyday for the last year!).

Here are some highlights:

  • Defending Democracy: We prepared hundreds of actionistas in DC and across the nation to Stop the Coup (even stepping folks thru an election protection Simulation game with ShutDownDC).

  • Harnessing People Power to Win: From Planned Parenthood to If Not Now, and from Ethiopia to Denmark, our trainings sparked newsworthy creative actions, and helped several national groups shift into a movement mindset, complete with organization-wide commitments to nonviolent action.

  • Creating accessible tools: Our crackerjack card deck is now being translated into Italian, Arabic, French, and Spanish, with our new online toolbox soon to follow in 5 languages!

  • Communicating in a polarized society: In partnership with Partners for Democratic Change Slovakia, we delivered a series of webinars highlighting innovative approaches tailored to the times.

  • Channeling the wisdom of international resistance: We shared teachings from comrades abroad via the launch of Beautiful Trouble’s Africa edition and a series of Defending Democracy webinars, highlighting the best practices of seasoned activists in the Global South who have long been working for justice in authoritarian environments.

  • Teaching webinars + workshops… remotely: We’ve been zooming into classrooms across the country from UC Berkeley to Rutgers.

  • Highlighting what our movements are doing right: Our article “HOLY SH*T! 7 things to do instead of hoarding toilet paper” made Waging Nonviolence’s top ten most read in 2020 and our article on BLM creative tactics got an honorable mention.

Want to learn how to bring this kind of creativity to your 2021 organizing? Talk with us about up-skilling your group

Given how things are going here in these not-so-United States, we’re in need of innovative approaches to bridge divides and win core progressive victories. And that’s what our trainings are designed to do. So, give us a call. Spread the word.

2021 game on. Let’s do this!
