Making trouble at the conventions

On Wednesday, July 13th, the BTTN Hangout Live! series continued in part 3 with artivistas and creative action organizers for the Republican National Convention and Democratic National Convention.

Beautiful Trouble will be joined by creative activists/organizers taking their work to the National Conventions in Cleveland and Philadelphia in the next two weeks. Thousands are expected to gather during the RNC/DNC and these folks are working hard to ensure that action on the ground is concrete and communicative, creative and engaging.

Together, we discussed the artistic/cultural/strategic considerations that were part of developing these actions/ creative pieces, along with the ways the current political climate has shaped or shifted plans.

The RNC/DNC are the gatherings at which delegates of the United States Democratic/Republican Party will choose their nominees for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States in the 2016 national election.

The RNC will be held July 18–21, 2016 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

The DNC will be held July 25–28, 2016, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
