Job posting - Multilingual Translations Coordinator

Position: Coordinate global efforts to translate the Beautiful Trouble activist toolkit into multiple languages across several formats. 
Location: virtual; you may work from anywhere. 
Hours and pay: Part-time; 3-5 hours per week at USD$30/hr.
Are you passionate about creative activism and the theory and practice of hands-on social change? Are you a skilled translator and project manager with a keen eye for detail, an ability to synthesize complex ideas in accessible language, and a passion for making brilliant ideas more accessible? Do your political networks include community activists at the forefront of radical social movement struggles for a better world? This is an opportunity to work with a global network of changemakers to make a (beautiful!) difference.
Beautiful Trouble is looking to expand our small but mighty collective by hiring someone to coordinate translations. You will work with a growing network of translators to translate and disseminate content from Beautiful Trouble’s award-winning creative activism toolbox across many languages, and several formats (book, card-deck, online knowledge-base). The successful candidate will have:
  • fluent written and verbal English;
  • fluency in multiple other languages;
  • experience managing translation teams;
  • experience in any kind of professional translation work;
  • a background in arts and/or activism;
  • a keen interest in publishing accessible, engaging, and actionable content for diverse, global users;
  • strong ties to progressive social movements;
  • a familiarity with creative activism toolkits like Beautiful Trouble, the Global Change Lab, Actipedia, CANVAS, or others;
  • a firm grasp of the history, thought, and practices informing radical politics and creative activism across diverse contexts;
  • comfort and ability to assist with project fundraising;
  • comfort in working remotely as part of a diverse, internationally-distributed team;
  • excellent time-management, collaboration, and communication skills;
  • tact, grace, and a wicked sense of humour (required!). 
This is a part-time, contract position, averaging between 3 and 5 hours per week, at US$30/hour.
