Beautiful Trouble is off to the printer! Copies are being bound as you read these very words, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Meanwhile, more trouble is in the works. As you may already know, the 99% Spring (http://the99spring.com) is holding a massive nationwide training weekend (April 9-15) to train 100,000 Americans from every walk of life in nonviolent direct action. To make this happen, they’re going to train 1000 trainers, and that’s where BT comes in: we’re going to put a copy of our book (and Chuck Collins’s 99 to 1) in each trainer’s hands.

It’s ambitious, but we’re working with our incredible philanthropist friend Harriet Barlow to help find the cash to make it happen. Here’s her letter to supporters:

Beautiful Trouble gives us a toolbox of creative tactics and principles so we can start taking effective action now. 99 to 1 tells us what’s wrong with our economy and what we can do to fix it.

At this exact moment in history it’s hard to imagine 1000 people better positioned to put this wisdom into immediate action, and two books better prepared to deliver it.

“Training of trainers” gatherings are happening the weekend of March 24-25. That weekend, we’d like to put both books in the hands of each trainer. The books would serve as resource, gift and incentive all rolled into one.

With the 50% publisher discounts that we’ve been able to secure for this special arrangement, we’ve gotten the total price for the 2,000 books, plus shipping, down to $21,000.

We are looking for a few — if not one — generous individual to make this timely and significant contribution. Help us put the best tools in hands of the grassroots leaders of our movement at this critical juncture. Thank you.
