Strategy Card Deck Designer

Eduarda is a Brazilian urbanist and designer exploring creative, critical and practical actions for meaningful social change. Her work ranges from urban design, planning and community engagement to research, visual storytelling and strategic design, aimed to transform the way people understand and experience cities. She believes her work as an urban designer goes beyond the design of the built environment to that of processes, services, systems and policies that make cities better places for everyone. To that end, one of the main focuses of her work has been producing tools and illustrations that assist citizens to navigate, contest or transform complex urban systems.

Eduarda has collaborated with organizations such as Urb-i, Streets Lab, Extrapolation Factory, Beautiful Trouble, and worked for the NYC Department of Transportation. She is a co-founder of Coletivo MOB (Movimente e Ocupe o seu Bairro), a non-profit organization based in Brasilia that uses public space as a platform for civic engagement and social change, working alongside local planning agencies, cultural movements and mobility advocates. Her passion for public space and commitment to citizen-led processes and democratization of urban knowledge led her to develop espacopubli.co, an interactive platform that provides resources and leverages grassroots initiatives that are reclaiming public space in the capital of Brazil. This project was an outcome of her master’s thesis at Parsons School of Design and a fellowship from the Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC). She currently works for NACTO, contributing to the efforts of the Global Designing Cities Initiative, working towards more sustainable, accessible and equitable transportation. In her free time, you can find her urban flaneuring, looking for lost chairs, or experimenting with fun side projects.
