Are you passionate about creative activism, social movements and Quickbooks? Are you a detail oriented, number-literate activist? Here is an opportunity to work with a network of creative changemakers under a 501(c)3 umbrella as they build a more solid organizational foundation for either world domination or financial sustainability, whichever comes first.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Beautiful Trouble is looking for a new financial whiz to step into the giant shoes of our soon-to-be-departing Monarch of Moola (job title self-chosen, open to change).
Start date: ASAP
Pay: $30/hour to start, increases over time
Hours: 10+ hours/month
Location: Anywhere there is the interweb. Must be comfortable with videoconferencing, google docs, and working with a remote team mostly based in far-flung locales.
Candidate will be responsible for:
Recording day-to-day financial transactions and performing bank reconciliations
Paying bills
Maintaining the organization’s Quickbooks file and running reports as needed
Generating budgets and statements for grant proposals and grant reporting
Managing multiple bank accounts
Generating 1099s
Assisting accountant with tax preparation
Your skills and experience should include:
Familiarity with 501(c)3 financial requirements
Bookkeeping and accounting with Quickbooks
Billpay through Bill.com
AP & AR
Spreadsheet wizardry
Online banking
Extreme appreciation for detail — we have many subprojects, contractors, and moving parts that all need to be kept track of at any given time
Ability to multitask (see above)
A wicked sense of humor
A love of creative approaches to social change
